Skill Sharing Workshop: Knitting! with Jane Palmer, Marianne Fairbanks, and Robin Richman
Please join Jane Palmer and Marianne Fairbanks with special guest Robin Richmond for a skill sharing workshop on knitting design and history. Knitting is an ancient technique of twisting yarn together with two needles to create cloth. Among its many purposes, it has been used in the creation of felt for yurt shelters among sheep herders in Mongolia, and has also been mechanized for mass production of sweaters and scarves in factories all over the world. The workshop will include a talk by Robin Richmond, a local high end fashion designer and retailer who has her own line of knitwear, and technical demonstrations and lessons on how to knit. All materials will be provided and no experience is required.
