- Consider alternatives
One way through which you can save money when buying land is by considering alternatives. By alternatives, we mean considering so-called lots with issues, such as lots on a hillside or on a higher plateau or location, lots that are narrow, and lots that are awkwardly-shaped. In general, these kinds of lots are not as preferred by many buyers, but if you don’t mind such aspects, you may be able to get a better deal on the price. But with the proper house plan and a good contractor, you can make something useful out of these ‘undesirable’ lots and have your ideal home before you know it. - Be careful with your choice of building materials
Being careful with your choice of building materials works in two ways: you can purchase building materials that don’t require much maintenance, and you can also buy building materials which have been salvaged from different construction and building sites.
